I have money to buy a new car but there isn't anything on the lots and dealerships are trying to gouge people with what they do have. I'm thinking in a couple months they will be dealing to get rid of all the 2021s sitting waiting for computer chips so they can get the 2022s out. I can wait. Be smart when looking. know the value of what you are looking at. Most manufacturers have a build your car websites that can give you an idea of what you should be paying. Also watch their websites for rebates and incentives. If you dont ask they are not going to tell you.

Perfect example of perhaps going for a gladiator over a Tacoma at this moment. Why pay over sticker for a Tacoma when you can have a gladiator at discount today. Who knows 2 months from now the tables could turn …

cars/trucks are toys some leniency to make a better financial decision seems like a normal thing to do

I may be wrong, but to me they look like a Wrangler Unlimited with a box stuck on the back of it. When my job actually involved traveling 50% of the time pre-COVID I would occasionally get a Wrangler as a rental car. Most uncomfortable vehicle of that size I've ever driven. When I got back to the National car return they'd ask how my rental experience was. I'd tell them their service was great but burn every one of these cars you have.

As of Sept. 3rd I think Toyota manufacturing of Texas discontinued the 2021 Tacoma & Tundra production and are in process of moving everything back down to the original Taco plant in Mexico and ramping up TMTX for the new Tundra's. I have been seeing more 21 Tundras coming in and the occasional Tacoma here and there in Central Texas. But most of the ones hitting the dealers have been pre-sold and the used ones are priced so high that no one in their right mind would buy them. Crazy seeing used Tundra's marked up $10k over MSRP :annoyed:

Once TSMC & Samsung ramp up their new Fabs in the US there will be more chips available here...but they won't be operational until 2024-2025 timeframe so this shortage could last a couple years.

Tesla was "smart" and got a contract with Samsung in US before any of the pandemic mess so that's why they are doing better than the others who source their chips from China, Taiwan, & Japan etc.

I saw a couple 2021's around that price a few months back. Folk's are crazy to pay anything above MSRP. From what Mike Sweers said in an interview a week or 2 ago about the pricing was that they will be competitive with the competition. But he doesn't control the dealer markups. One of the big reasons for them to integrate the new TNGA-F platform is that many of the parts are interchangeable so that in theory will create less costs for the manufacturers.

Yea anyone paying 10k over msrp on a 14 year old Tundra needs to have their head examined. But hey it's a free market. One mans trash is another man's treasure.

hahaha for real. I wish they would offer me that kind of money on my 07 Taco  Toyota offered me $8k for it last fall and I said no thanks. I would rather give it to a family member for that price.

I traded a 19 pro for a 21 back in March and had to wait 5mo for the 21 to come in. My 19 I traded in was gone within the week they put it on the lot.

Ammo is harder to find around here than Tacomas. At least I can reserve a taco

Academy seems to regularly have supplies around here. 9mm is priced well compared to online. But 5.56 is about the same price as on-line and I have a better selection there.

Two have been stolen from my neighborhood. Both times the owners kept their keys by the front door of the house.

when I had my Chevy Volt I kept the key fobs nowhere near a 1st floor door or window and put them in a faraday box at night. Paranoid? Maybe…

How did you sell it to them? Did you list it for sale and they contacted you? Or did you go there?

I had my JDM console tray stolen last week. They didn't bother opening the door. just smashed the driver window and took my console tray, $3 in quarters, and my new pen. They took the time to toss my face mask tho
