New frame harness, filler neck and tubes, tank vent and front diff bushings + durobump front bump stops inbound. Should have the toyota parts early next week. Need to locate a used sending unit, toyota no longer has those.

i wont stop you from selling me them if you're not going to use them... i can still use the ones from zane for the prerunner conversion later on...

but I also don’t know a lot about other things. Like self control when purchasing vehicles.

 

Well. May as well update this thread too.

Machine shop contacted me. Should have the stuff I gave them to do hopefully done by December??? Transmissions still a bit of a toss up when it’ll show up… but hey.. things are moving as fast as severely understaffed shops can manage

 

So how’s that’s 3.5 going?

 

Slowly... agonizing over making jigs for some of the fabricated parts that aren't slot and groove assembly.

 

Just beg Marc to make some mounts for you. I’m sure it wouldn’t irritate him

yea I don’t envy you. If I were doing a swap it would of been a 2gr-fse or Fks

 

Nah mounts were easy and are long done. And I have the files so I can make more for others easily if the need arises.

The weird part is the intake manifold and rear water bypass... Currently waiting for fittings to get the latter done.

Headers is what I'm contemplating making a jig for.

Yeah the FR motors definitely would have saved some headache... But so much more $$$

 

If they come out soon, the cast manifolds he designed should work.

 

No, he is only making a single manifold, so on one side the exit would point towards the front of the truck; also the look like they would cover the locations to bolt FR mounts on....

All the fab work is well within my equipment capabilities and skill set, its just some components would be harder to replicate than others... I know a few other guys who might want to do this swap based on the outcome of mine, and I'm just keeping track of what will be easy to make/sell later.

I’m really looking at 3uz swapping the 2002 taco down the line. But now that the TT engines are coming I’ll probably hold off

 

Man the TT stuff is pretty good, but the ECU is locked down harder than ever before... and you know those are gonna be pricey af to get for a loooong time

 

Ah yes, but I’m sure one will pop up in my shop that takes a drink. The ecu issue I’m sure Marc could give me a hand figuring it out.
