Whats the plan for a proportioning valve, master cylinder and booster to go with the rear disks?

Sequoia master cylinder with the adapter from sosperformance. Everything else will be stock. I can adjust the lspv to make it brake like I like. I have the Toyota tool for adjusting it proper

[IMG] All the parts are in for the axles to get pressed together. Try and do the 02 axles this weekend so I can get them setup for the 01

Have you figured out if the 2nd gen kit is the same for 1st gens - I have to do something if I want to upgrade to the tundra brakes and manage the rear disks and its another question due to having a dual diaphragm booster vs 01-04 single diaphram boosters with the pedal linkage being different as well.

The stuff I’m using is for 1st gen tundras. That’s the closest to the 1st gen tacos. 1st gen tundras use the same master and booster (unless they had VSC) and the axles are similar. The only thing I have to modify is the ebrake cables.
2nd gen discs will probably fit. But the parking brake setup will be a bit More involved to get working.

as for your master, you probably need to swap over to the 01-04 setup.

It’s been a blessing to have the tundra here, I can see how much is actually interchange able

I'm only considering the MC / Booster setup - my rear brakes are GM Eldorado single piston calipers and I'm using a manual proportioning valve. I'm assuming Tundras had the single diaphragm boosters.

Yup. Then the sos adapter lets the sequoia master fit. Which was designed from the get go for 4 wheel disc

There is the slim change a sequoia master and booster would fit. But I have not explored that option nor do I plan on it. Unless I come across one in the junkyard for cheap

I think if I could find one I would try because with the dual diaphragm booster and a different brake pedal linkage that works with it it's probably already in the area of needing to mod everything - any places to look - I know carparts.com and ebay, but they're typically on the expensive end of the spectrum and OEM is like $1300 total lol.

[IMG]J59 deavers installed. If I’m feeling it tomorrow I’ll get the pig installed into the axle and mount the axle. Slowly she’s getting there

Well due to the death of my beloved 2006 corolla, I have a bit more cash now so I’ll be putting what I got from it into getting this thing closer to done.
Pig is in the rear diff, hopefully I have time at work tomorrow to press the axle shafts together and prepared for disc brakes (I do not have rotors calipers or pads yet)

well got the axles all pressed together, got them in the axle, got the axle under the truck and well SHE ROLLS! Brackets for fj rear brakes are on.. i'll get some parking brake hardware sourced and get rotors and calipers on all 4 corners sooner rather than later.

I enjoy popping in on this thread on the rare occasions I log in :) It's 'inspirational' haha. One day I'll build a good size shop and rip apart my taco, do a full rebuild.

so just to make sure, are the rear disk brakes the 1st gen tundra kit from SOS Performance or another kit as I saw you mention you were sourcing FJ parts?

the kit is from SOS for a 1st gen tundra. it uses fj rear brake components.

i actually hope to get moving on getting the rear brakes and front brakes done on this before the end of December. but the powder coater is backed up pretty bad whos doing my calipers.
