My wife wants to replace her 2011 Tacoma with a 2015. She doesn't seem to want the joy/possible headaches a 2016. We had enough "fun" with that on her 2005. Any ideas of when production and shipping of the 2015's will end?

According to my dealer they are not expecting the 2016's to be available until the end of this year.

No idea, but I through the same thing with my 2007. Didn't want to be a new generation guinea pig and wanted to replace my 2007 in the next couple years, so I traded it in on a 2015 two months ago.

According to the Toyota Fleet Sales website:

    https://fleet.toyota.com/vehicles/tacoma.asp

The last fleet orders for MY 2015 was April 10th with delivery as late as 8/31/15.

Starting May 1st will be orders for MY2016 with 10/1/15 earliest delivery.

As far as orders through dealers go I think that works a bit differently - usually they are just rearranging delivery of models previously ordered and so lead times for a not too bizarrely configured truck are about 8 weeks. That would mean don't order any later than say June. But if fleet orders for MY 2015 have already ended then I'd think if you want a particular configuration that you might need to order or do a dealer swap for then you should be shopping real soon.

On the other hand if you don't care too much what you get then you could wait longer and see if there are any "deals" on the last 2015 trucks on the lots come this summer. But of course there might not be any deals and you might end up getting something you don't really want.

Thanks for the information on the fleet orders. My dealer's sales manager said that they should be getting 2015 Tacomas through the end of the summer. Most to the trucks that they order are pretty much equipped as we would custom order. As an aside, they are not expecting 2016's until the end of this year.
