No. I didn't complete my shackle work in time, so I'm still running factory rubber.

My plan was to take shackles to machine shop, drill and tap for zerk fitting.

Then I'd have a fully greasable shackle.

Just ordered some ES Bushings for my 07, so I'm going to revive this thread. What was the issue with shackle bushing? Was the removal & install process not the same for all 3 sets of bushings?

The rear shackle bushing install requires removal of the inner sleeve so the Energy bushings will fit. The other bushings fit just fine.

I just performed this upgrade. If you purchase toyota part# 04005-65104, which are the old style shackles, you can just install the bushings into these without having to drill out the sleeves.

I replaced the bushings on my truck as of this past saturday. I did end up having to remove all of the outer sleeves. I drilled out the rubber bushings, and used a chisel to beat the outer sleeves out.

The Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings slide in with ease. I ended up buying the 8oz tub of Energy's Formula 5 prelube and greased the bushings, sleeves, and bolts liberally.

My stealership didn’t have the shackles in stock and mine were in perfect shape so I just reused them. Pressed the rubber out and used this panel cutter for the sleeve, came right out. https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NPT65090

So? Has anyone replaced their SHACKLE bushings? Tried to press the ones I got from Headstrong in and the fitment is TIGHT end up ruining them to be honest.

The Outer metal sleeve from the OEM bushing is stuck in the shackle and needs to be removed. I used the above panel cutter in an air hammer to remove sleeve with no issues. Poly bushing press in by hand.

Or you could just by new shackles, think they’re like $35.

Did you check your diameters? You have to remove the sleeve, I thought I covered it pretty well in my post. Mine are still working well, Except for that time I bent my exhaust offroad to point right at it and they melted...

Unless all the rust and crap made it look like 1 piece. I burnt out the old bushings. Here's a picture of what I have left. 20200922_082449.jpg 20200922_082518.jpg
