It's time to replace the air filter in my wife's SUV, and I'm just wondering if anyone knows anything about the generic air filters. I'm not looking for any major performance gains, but I'm curious as to whether one is better than the others.

The obvious things to consider are air flow and filtration.

I'm leaning toward just getting a NAPA filter, but figure I'll ask around before going to get the replacement. Auto stores in my area are: Autozone, O'Reilly and NAPA. I haven't really seen any others.

Thanks in advance. (google only returns results on performance filters)

The napa brand filters are made by WIX I think. Pretty good choice IMO.

If you're just looking for regular OEM replacement Purolators are some of the best you can get.

That is what i was looking for. I ended up with the NAPA Gold filter. I didn't see Purolator in any of the stores...

I'll keep an eye out for them though for the next time it needs to be done.
