Does anyone know of anyone that makes a bolt in bracket for a second battery or just a flat tray to bolt other stuff to in this location for the 5vz-fe engine bay?

I'm sure someone out there makes one, but there are so many different configurations for that spot (that's where the ABS module/windshield washer reservoir goes, ), it's going to be hard to get exactly what you need. Also depends on what you want to mount there.

Most people end up doing custom fabrication. It's really not that hard, and can be done with very basic tools and materials found at home depot.

Gotcha. I have a ability to fabricate something @jbrandt but I would rather buy something that is readily available if I can find it

Yeah, that's the problem. It's such a niche thing that even if you did find something, it would probably need modification to suit your needs anyway.

Especially for the 1st gens. I'm pretty sure there are several companies that make this kind of stuff for the 2nd/3rd gen trucks, but again, those would need a bunch of modification to work with 1st gens. And those things are usually pretty expensive for what you get because they cater to the broverlander crowd.

It's nothing a little CAD (cardboard aided design) can't fix.

As stated, niche product on an old platform.

DIY best way to go here.

Plus, it's a great excuse to tell the wife you "need" to buy a welder, press break and a bender. Just think how much money that saves in the long run...

if you're asking about aftermarket battery trays, a lot of companies sell them depending on what kind of battery you're looking to fit

    Ballistic Fab comes to mind

    https://www.ballisticfabrication.com/collections/battery-boxes

As far as bolt in, you'd probably have to fab up something to make that part work with any tray on the market to fit in that spot

Unless you're bad at welding, then the wife would call it a waste of money

Maybe a bunch of zip ties could hold a battery there long enough :burp:

You can't be bad at something you don't do...
