I've just bought this CPO 20 TRD Pro in SoCal. We got it home and I noticed the wiring harness surrounding the engine bay all electrical taped up. Of course it was dark and we couldn't see this when examining the vehicle. There is nothing in the service history on this lease returned Pro from TX.

    - Any ideas or suggestions on recourse to dealership/Toyota?
    - Rats chewing on the eco-frendly coated harness cabling?

That's how it is from factory. My 2020 looks the exact same.

SAD! What a difference in quality.
My 1st Gen Taco was built in Fremont, CA.
I guess all Taco production has moved to Guanajuato, MX?

 So you didn't use your phone's flashlight to look under the hood if you even opened the hood.

What's the build month and year? My Mex Tacoma is great. What a difference in years!

When I worked for VW/Audi the shittiest builds were from the USA, then Brazil, then Mex, and Germany being the best.

Shame on me for not doing just that but you'd expect with 25K miles and a CPO, s#!+ like that wouldn't be an issue let alone so sloppy, as BLtheP noted.

Cheaper and cheaper, thats the name of the game these days.
My 17 Tundra was one of the last ones with a Brake Cooler still factory fitted.
Some Toyota product bean counter said "NAH! let them upgrade it on their own, they'll never need or use it!"

I think mine looks the same.
    DSC_0462.jpg

Obviously a lot more professional looking when it was brand new.

Mine is a Texas built truck.

I actually don't see any issue with this way of wrapping wire harnesses. I personally kind of prefer it over the usual tube sleeve, as over the years gunk and stuff will build up in them, and result in some really crunchy wires.

The assembly line workers don’t build wiring harnesses so no point in blaming them.
