Trying to install a Kats 11813 into a 4.0, cant get the cartridge to seat all the way in the block. I’m guessing the cartridge is supposed to slot in a particular manner but I am unable to have any luck. What am I missing?

I'm in the same situation as you. I think the sides of the plug where the cord plugs into is rubbing against the block at the same place the bracket was. I have a 14 v6. I think I'm gonna search for the new part number from Toyota and get that one.

Is that stupid bracket in your way? I was going crazy when trying to install mine. Moved the bracket and the block heater popped right in place. Very happy with it.

So, I figured it out. I sanded one side of the wide part of the heater and it slides right in.

I have a factory Toyota block heater that I am going to end up selling if anyone is interested in it.
