I have a 2017 2.7 SR. I need help identifying a metal on metal clatter sound coming from the engine area. It only happens when I first start it in the morning. It goes away after 10 to 15 seconds, or when I put it in gear. I have a video of the sound

Mileage is 130,000. Oil is good. Mobil 1 full synthetic every 5000 miles

Something about the VVT valves filling with oil, maybe. Don’t worry about it.

I would at least temporarily change the oil faster.

I had a few Chrysler hydraulic lifter cars that had a startup clatter as well, and going to a 2000-2500 mile schedule cleaned out the gunk in the lifters enough that they all stopped startup rattling after 4-6 oil changes. Theoretically doing a flush can also help, but I fear that flushes are too harsh on old bearing surfaces, so just changed the oil more often.

The 2AR-FE and 2GR-FE are known to develop cold-start rattle due to a failed VVTi gear. Does your clatter sound like this?

Yes that's the sound. It has gotten worse lately. I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow

If your oil isn’t clean, clean, clean I’d run a 5 minute flush through that bich and let it drain overnight. Fill with new oil and filter then few days later change the oil filter, again. I’d be worrying more about your driveshaft u joints.

That's called a "death rattle" on the 2AR and 2GR. If a fresh oil change with 0W20 doesn't fix it, then a VVTi gear replacement is likely necessary.
