I've tried to find the p/n for these bolts with no luck. I lost one of the bolts that holds the engine cover in place. Not the acorn style but the bracket closest to the windshield side of the cover on the driver side. Does anyone know the p/n for this? Thank you in advance.

You mean the bolts that hold the rod thingy? There's 2 bolts. Take the other one out and take it to the hardware store and match it up.

I recently had my engine cover off and I set the 2 acorn nuts on top of the cover. I picked it up to put it back on and there was only 1 acorn nut. I looked all over the place for about 10 minutes, and couldn't find it anywhere. I finally gave up and put the cover back on. When I pushed it into place, the acorn nut popped out of the hole. I wonder if it's an intentional design that the acorn nuts fit perfectly, upside down, in the holes. When it's in there like that, it sorta disappears.

I removed my engine cover and never put it back on. It looks better without it!

But you lose horsepower without it. I think about 25% of the horsepower is in the engine cover.

I would like to keep it on. I would think it would help keep heat off the hood but I'm not sure. It is one of the ones holding the rod thing. I didn't know if they were the same or not. I finally found a schematic of it and they are. Thanks for be advice.

Well pardon me but when things are taken from your truck and it was a the dealership and because of Covid I know where it has been and when things go missing . Unfortunately it is quite common with taking advantage of women that bring vehicles in for work to do unnecessary work on them to charge more . Like old jokes of bearings in mufflers . Anyways do you know where I can obtain the acorn nut and post ?

The hood doesn't need heat protection. Paint is baked at much higher temperatures than the intake would ever get. The cover is just there to trap dirt and create a nice cozy place for mice to settle in and chew on the $1000 wiring harness.

Do you really believe that only women are targets at a dealer?????
Do you believe the dealer hangs a sign on the vehicle identifying a Women's Car?

    Geessshhhh. o_O:crazy:

Oh, to answer your question. Remove the other mating acorn nut and post. Visit the local hardware store, a salvage yard or the dealer parts desk. Make a match with the one in your hand.

I always thought the only purpose of that engine cover was to keep mere peasants from fiddling with anything under the hood that wasn’t certified by the dealer. The first time I had to take it off, I “lost” it.

Dealers try to "pull extras" no matter who or sex.

Try not to be so sexist.
