I have this same issue.. Although mine has done it with a slight turn just entering a freeway. I'm also driving a 4 cyl. basically seems like loss of fuel to me or like a governor is not allowing the vehicle to accelerate. Definitely scary at times.

I had a vehicle that hesitated on acceleration - long story short - the fuel pump. And it did test sort of OK at idol.

Sorry to dig an old thread up but i did find resolution... Finally took it into the dealer and there is a sensor that was out of alignment so it kept thinking the brake pedal was being pushed. Toyota readjusted it for free and its driving great. It took me until last week to finally get it resolved.

Yeah. That is the software fix for the "unintended acceleration". When if the brake is pressed and the throttle is pressed it cuts the engine power.

They adjusted the brake switch. As was outlined in Post # 7 and # 12... 10 January 2015.

    Thanks for reporting back.

Yesssir it became apparently obvious when i would look outside and my brakes were on.... wiggle the pedal and they would go off.

Not 100% positive, but I suspect overfilling the gas tank may cause this kind of problem; i.e., adding gas after the nozzle has automatically shut-off.

    Zombie thread.

It was fixed in 2015 and was the brake switch adjustment...

How do these old post keep getting brought up out of no where?

@rwilsond did you use the search function to find this thread?

I have a 2016 off-road edition Toyota Tacoma that does the exact same thing. Generally speaking it only does it on a couple of turns but it is always the right turn and it is always in this one spot where it's a right turn and you immediately go up a slight Hill. It immediately dies down to no power at all for a couple of seconds and then makes you seem like you're in the giantest biggest sissiest vehicle of all time as you Putt-Putt up the little Hill. This is incredibly unbecoming of a freaking four-wheel drive vehicle that was literally made to kick as* out in the middle of nowhere and climb steep hills supposedly. So my question is if it is the VSC junk, how do I remove that BS VSC system altogether? I had to take my truck in for a recall repair a couple of months ago that was missed on it and they gave me a new Tacoma to drive for the week and I have to be honest it was the worst experience of my entire life but that could be said for just about every single new vehicle out there.

^If that was the worst experience of your entire life, you must lead a sheltered life :cookiemonster:

Jokes aside, check for a misrigged brake pedal switch like originally described in this 2015 necro-thread you dug up. Make sure your truck has done the crank sensor recall.
