I bought this truck when it was 3 years old. It is a 2009 , every now and then ( not often ) if I make a decent hard left turn it will die for maybe 3 secs. and then pick back up. It acts like it starves out for gas but picks it back up after the turn. It has done it maybe 4-5 times a year ever since I bought it. Anybody else had this? Fix? Thanks

I wonder if your fuel pump strainer is clogged. Can you check fuel pressure or have the means to do so on it?

Sounds like your driveshaft is binding up at full lock, stalling the engine. I'd turn it full lock and get under and see if something's tweaking your driveshaft, just a guess though.

I also learned this lesson in a Lexus. Even if your battery is strapped in tight and terminals are tight, you may have a loose connection somewhere else. On mine the ground cable from the frame to the block was severely corroded. Every time I made a left turn, especially if I hit a bump mid-turn, the connection would get poor and RPMs would drop, sometimes enough to stall. Fixed the connection and it never happened again.

Fuel pump filter or pickup would be the second thing I would check.

Yea I had all the drive shaft dropped and checked for another reason. I like turning left tho. It does not shut off completely , it is like it goes to an idle for maybe 2 seconds and all of a sudden back to being correct without turning the key. What gadget do I need to check fuel pressure? I lean more to losing fuel for some reason. I was just curious if it was something that happen often to other folks and what they did to fix it. If I never fix it no big deal, been driving in right hand turns for 7 years. LOL. Seriously it does not stop me from do anything as it only happens if I turn left aggressively and then maybe only half dozen times a year at most. Never got worse and cannot make it do it. Oh well, thought I would address it. Nothing ventured nothing lost. I still love the lizard truck and all its past ancestors.

How would that do anything? I can brake torque (gas and brake same time ) and that won't make truck go to idle.

Some people have had a problem where the brake switch is adjusted right on the edge of closing and while making a turn the slop in the pedal makes the switch close. Since Toyota got sued by the cops family, they make sure the truck won't get out of it's own way if the brakes are applied.

Isn't there a power steering pressure sensor that bumps up the rpm when steering pressure increases?

Follow your Negative battery cable to the engine block and check tightness, maybe just a little loose when the motor mount torques on a left turn????

Wow that is dangerous as all shit. Let me just shut off on the highway real quick for fun!

And then manufacturers wonder why they get sued.
