I cleaned the k&n filter, MAF sensor, and throttle body. All were REALLY REALLY DIRTY. Could have just been the air filter and the truck not getting enough air when giving heavy throttle and the immediate demand for air being limited due to the dirty filter? I'm not positive but regardless, it definitely needed it and I can tell its running a little better. I'd say if you haven't done your MAF & throttle body in a while then clean them as well. I like the k&n but I also think its probably not the best for the intake system.

I have 260k miles on my 2009 Prerunner. I just recently started having some hesitation when accelerating to highway speeds. I don’t usually go to the dealership, but had them check it out while I was having a couple other things done. They told me that it was most likely worn out transmission solenoids. They didn’t offer to fix it nor quote me a price. I’m a little skeptical on that diagnosis, so will probably take it to an actual transmission shop.

I was originally wondering if it could be an issue with fuel injectors. Or saw someone post that they had an issue with their fuel pump. If it is the solenoids, Im more inclined to just replace the transmission as a whole rather than replacing like 7 solenoids costing about $250 each unless it was just 1 specific solenoid.

I know an old post. But it fixed my acceleration hesitation I’ve had for years. upload_2023-9-28_9-2-11.jpgLook him up on YouTube
