At idle when the hood is open I’m hearing a buzzing noise. Not sure what to make of it and dont remember hearing it before. Seems loudest from upper rear driver side of the block. See the video for an example.

Sort of a shot in the dark but maybe someone has dealt with this already.

Based only on that noise, I'm guessing vacuum leak or a bad bearing somewhere in the accessory drive. Take off the accessory belt (serpentine) start it up and listen closely for for a minute. It won't hurt anything if it only runs for a minute and you don't drive it.

Ended up at the dealer for inspection. They thought pcv valve and replaced it. Issue persisted after replacement. They then replaced valve cover and this solved the issue.

Strange that a new valve cover and nothing more would solve it. Maybe the new cover & gasket solved a vacuum leak or other sealing issue...

According to engineering there can be instances where the valve cover is not machined right...which causes the noise.

That is interesting... I had no idea. But I'd imagine the noise would be noticed on first start-up, at the factory? I guess not! Thanks for your replies.

    Likewise!

It was mild enough to have minimal to seemingly no performance hits. I had the truck for 1.5 yrs before I happened to have the engine running and be in earshot of the noise.
