Yes it's a legit Toyota oil cap the "TEQ" logo (Katakana To Yo Da) from the 70's before they went to the TOYOTA and then the modern 'xW-xx' oil viscosity rating printed on an otherwise boring plain cap.

This is on my 2nd gen, not sure if the 3rd gen uses this one or the more fine threaded size.

By two styles I mean thread size/pitch there's been many different tops, I've had this cap on a few vehicles now, pulled it off a junkyard truck like a decade ago that was a factory camper conversion dually with a 20r motor (see example image below)

I replaced the O ring from Toyota by ordering one for a 2010 Tacoma, same part number (after several supersessions) as the one that was in it was completely plasticized and starting to fall apart.

    (A very nice 'built' 20r)

You can see the same cap sans paint there.

The truck I pulled it off of was no where near this nice but the outside would have once looked something like this if I remember correctly:

    CC-27-165-800.jpg

Only the one I got the cap from looked like it had been side swiped by a semi as the left half the camper was gone.

Did some googling on it and apparently Winnebago and Toyota were in a partnership for a little while and we're building these things as factory duallys they had 4:56 gearing and the 90 horsepower 20R and then later down the road the 22R and then 22RE.

As far as I know they were the only factory duallys Toyota has ever produced that wasn't a one off for SEMA or something.

There wasn't hardly else anything salvageable on it but I couldn't pass up grabbing a little piece of history being a Toyota junky, shift knob was aftermarket most things were rusted smashed or otherwise trashed or at least not recognizable as Toyota specific, but the old school OEM oil cap was still there surprisingly so I took it, I had actually never seen the TEQ logo on anything American before but some dealerships in Japan are still using it for branding along with 'Toyota Pet' and 'Netz' so I had to grab it for nostalgia and historical value, couldn't bare to see it destroyed.

I had it for a few months sitting on my desk then when I did an oil change I noticed the cap looked about the same size and tried it, it fit my xD and has been on my Toyota's every since.

Not the best pictures but what I could find on short notice.

Yep, for that instance but I’m right back in for something else- it’s a daily thing. Wife’s extremely OCD so everything has to remain extremely clean and aligned.21C8DE14-8191-4C77-BAFC-C02C88233D1B.jpg

    Be thankful......

My LOML is borderline packrat. I swear we have every single box that we received from online purchases. Must have 800 Amazon boxes alone......... Boxes are just one of the many "important must haves" that gather dust in our house.
