There should be no difference with bolts in place of the studs. Bolt it up, don't forget to trim the baffle at the bottom of the shorty (shown in post #60).

That's what I was thinking. Yup, will do.

How long have you gone with just using the oil cap directly in the valve cover?? My oil tube/neck recently snapped off after my trip through the Mojave Desert. (Suspecting my Dual Battery Tray smacked it a few times)

Anyone have any video tutorials to walk me through properly removing whatever thread(s) is inserted in the valve cover hole and epoxying back a stubby neck?

I had it towed home, immediately did an oil change, and it’s running fine, no leaks. I’m just concerned simply using the oil cap directly in the valve cover isn’t a permanent solution. (But I’d love it if it is!)

Looks like the Genesis dual battery setup. Is there a reason that you aren’t using the bus bars intended for accessories?

    Reviving this thread .

I was chasing an oil leak that ended up being the filler neck from where it attaches to the valve cover . I twisted it off, surprisingly easy and went oil filler cap straight to valve cover . If your curious , yes it screws in. This is my captains log, day one . Cap straight to valve cover . I will further keep notes of my journey for fellow travelers.

I know this is an old thread, but, is the cap still holding up? I had mine break off on Sunday so I did a drain and refill and have gone with your solution. Hopefully I don't have to do anything else.

still going strong, I’ve leavened to accept it . Never once have I decided to try and re glue the filler neck.
