This is an interesting question. Oil temps aren't usually measured, or even questioned. I know from reading stats, internal factory GM, oil temps should run above 212° to burn off condensation. I read stats, I'm not recalling where, that modern engine oil temps at 140° Celsius is at the upper limit? That would put you there at 280°. There could be a restriction, but that should show up on your pressure gauge. I wish I knew the answer for you. I'm surely following.

What is the device plugged into the oil cooler? I think it's a line containing wires, but I'm not sure.

The pid isn't supported because there's no oil temp sensor on the engine

Some software will throw up a guess on a pid just to make you feel all warm and fuzzy, and some won't

Again, there is literally, actually, for real, no oil temp sensor on these trucks. A scan tool can't magically stick a temp probe in a oil pan. It doesn't exist

We see this all the time with guys talking about "catalyst temperature" .. there aren't any exhaust temperature sensors of any kind plugged into the exhaust stream. That's a diesel thing.

Yes i am aware of this. It is however present in Techstream and i am just curious how it relates to actual temps in the sump as apposed to how ever TIS calculates it. From what i remember i found it strange oil temps exceeding coolant temps under load on a cold engine. Last 3 yrs been working close to home resulting in excessive short trips.i am looking to extend OCI. While i did some tests with an infrared thermometer to see how pan temps correlate to coolant temps, was just thinking this might have some application here.

    Me too

Any scan tool company can throw a number up on a screen. The question is, what is the value of that piece of info? How are they arriving at the number?

Given how there is no temp sensor plugged into the oil pan, in my opinion it is a useless pid

Looks like Oil pid is available on all apps but is not supported when connected.
I ran a quick test with TIS and found from coolant temp 85°-90°
On hwy an extreme spread 34° hotter
    At idle 20° cooler
    And sump maintained 80°.:notsure:

I know fusion stopped at 2022 PIDs. Is your fusion configured as 2023 or 2022 model?
In AT world, Engine oil temps is close to AT1 temp. In most cases below Coolant.I'm not familiar with MT data

Question. Did you buy Toyota pids in side of the app?. If yes, which year? The pid year must match the truck year models inside the vehicle config . Also, you should be prompted to scan for available PIDs once connected the app to the truck.
Do you see oil temps in Techstream?
