Engine oil

The country where I live got temperature that never goes under 20 degrees Celsius but can go to 35 degrees Celsius. Should I use Mobil 1 5w40 or 5w30?

 

I live in a country where temperature never goes under 15 degrees Celsius and I always used 5w30 synthetic oil. Should I continue to use that or should I use 5w40 now?
Also for the air filter, someone said it is better to use original paper one. I just bought and installed a TRD air Filter that is cleanable and could be last the life of vehicle, is it better I switch back to a paper one to protect my engine?

 

5w 30 is fine.

I would just use paper element for the air intake.

 

Is it possible to clean the older one air filter like cleaning the AC filter?

 

AC = air conditioner

 

depending on how many miles your air filter has been in there. You might as well replace it, you never want to give your engine dirty air.

Haynes manual says 5W 30 for all temps or 10W 30 for areas that don't see below -18C. I have an oil free air filter that I clean every 6 months. A little more expensive up front but much cheaper over the life of the truck

 

You could i guess if it has large debris in it. I just change mine every 25k. Sometimes i check it if ive been in a dusty environment. The filters are only about $15-20.

Oil filters take time. Have to wash it, wait for it to dry, try not to over oil it. While the disposable is done in 5 mins

Yeah its safe to use. Just be careful to not over oil it. The oil can get on the MAF and cause poor running condition but thats about it. You should clean the MAF and throttle body once ayear anyways.
