So i noticed a couple weeks ago when i was merging off the freeway my truck stuttered and threw a check engine light and felt like a misfire, only lasted a secind then it was fine.

few days later i was just driving down the road 45mph not accelerarting and it loss power for about 1/2 a second 2 or 3 times in a row so i immidiately pull over, pop the hood and look for loose cables, leaking , weird noises. i found nothing, and it seemed to been running fine at that point, unltil i slammed the hood shut then it died . it fired right up and drove fine for another couple weeks.

last night when i parked i was sitting in my truck letting it run and it died. i started it back up no problem and it kept dying after 3-5 seconds. so i started it once more glassed it a bunch to try to maybe clear it out and it seemed to be ok, so i went to drive off and as soon as i turn out into the busy street it completely dies again and i almost got nailed by a few cars in the process. i called AAA and waited for them to arrive, but of course when they got there it was running perfect again and he suggested my idle censor might be bad . i drove it home without a hitch, and drove to work today again with no issues at all.

i am at a loss on this one, i can usually figure out problems by process of elimination but this time its so random that i cant re create the problem.

any ideas>? its a 2007 TRD 4.0 2wd with 100k miles . havent done anything to it as far as aftermarket stuff yet. although in a week or so im going to be installing new headers, o2 censors, cold air intake, oil change and after reading up on it, i am going to try the sea foam out.
