quick question. I have a 04 3.4l taco noticed the other day that when accelerating the motor shutters and is hesitate. Would this be caused by bad plugs??

Check your spark plug wires. My truck did something similar when accelerating and changing them fixed it

Could be a lot of things, but checking spark plugs and wires would be a good place to start. Is it throwing any codes?

Do you have an Advance or Autozone around? They will have a code scanner you can borrow. Most will just ask to hold onto your license while you take the scanner out to the truck. Some might even check the codes for you.

Yup! I'm a Toyota guy for life. I now own three. My 96 5 lug Tacoma, and two 2nd gen 4runners. Picked up the 5 lug 4 years ago for $250 and rebuilt it. 20k miles on the rebuild and it's never let me down. Bought the two 4runners (91 and 94) for $300 apiece, not running. About to start that project. Make one good engine out of the two and put it in the 94. Swap bumpers, tires and lift from the 91 to the 94 and what's left of the 91 will become a hillbilly trail rig with a Chevy 350 in it.

My 5 lug is an xtracab too. I guess it's not really comfortable for the passengers, especially since the jump seats hold my tools and gear. Can't wait to have the 4runner on the road, so I can comfortably haul more than one other person! My best friend has a 97 4runner, and it's great for hauling around his family. Easily fits two car seats. Good trucks for a little family.

Yeah, it'll be a good bit of work to get all of that off, but I don't mind. Gonna be interesting to see what color all the body panels are, since I found out one fender is actually a gray/silver color. I will probably end up spray painting it myself like I did my 5 lug:

It's pretty easy, the biggest tip I could give is don't be afraid to use painter's tape! I taped everything off on my truck as I went, even the Toyota lettering on the tailgate. It came out perfect because I used tape.

Let me know how your rims come out!
