Hello all. I have read as many threads as I can on here for the engine squeal, loud bird, etc. while driving and it appears it is indeed the belt, idle pulley, or combination of the two. The videos posted are identical to my issue, but there are no repair cost listed. I will be taking it to the shop, but need to move some money around and was wondering the approximate cost of replacing the belt\pulley?

I would change these out myself, but I have a corporate job and food truck, so no time to do this. I just had it at the dealership to get 4 of the 5 recalls fixed, (still waiting on leaf spring solution). They looked at the belt and said it was OK. The squeal does not occur on every trip, but when it does, it is constant.

I am heading to St. Louis on Friday and need to get this fixed. Besides, the noise is embarrassing. I will be taking it to my mechanic and he is what we all look for in one. Can someone give me a ballpark on these?

BTW, you guys ROCK! I show people the overhead compass thread that helped me fix it when it went down. They always say "Man, I wish there was a forum like this for my xxxxxxx!"

    Thanks as always in advance,
    Fish

Rock Auto has a "Gates belt kit" for about 150.00 that has the parts needed to fix, comes with new pulleys, tensioner, belt.

Figure about 2-3hr for mechanic to replace.
