engine starts but shuts off

    so i replaced a blown head gasket on 97 taco. now when i start iit shuts back off aft min. but starts rite back up

    Did you plug the mass air flow back in. It will do exactly what you're describing if it's not hooked up.

    If it stays running if you keep the rpms up and if it will stay running after everything is warm check the idle air control valve. We see it all the time at work

    check that then. Some people call it an idle speed control valve
