i have a 95 taco with the 2.4l engine, though this has been a reliable engine for me its just not cutting it anymore. Anyone know what can fit in there instead?

Just bump up to 3rz if it's broken, but tbh if ur going to put the effort forth to make the 6 cyl work u could go v8 as mentioned. Mounts, crossmembers, ECU will all need to be changed.

Have u even tried regearing yet? The 2rz is only a smaller bore/stroke than 3rz and is no pushover when it comes time for work

    Pretty much anything can fit.

Easiest swaps is the 3RZ 2.7 I4 and then the 5VZ 3.4l V6, after that it gets interesting as most everything will be stand alone custom one off fab work.

There's probably some LS kits out there, maybe a 2UZ V8 kit to keep it in the family.

The 1UZ V8 may be easier to find and get.

But realistically the only option you should be considering is the flex fuel 5.7l 3UR-ZFE supercharged V8 from the tundra running e85 and shit ton of boost and timing.

With this set up you won't have to worry about breaking axles as the tires will never stop spinning.

It isonly limited by your skills or how big a budget you have.

What is your end game full out race Truck Power can`t beat a small block chevy great parts and aftermarket support.

Although unless you have Great self Control drive line parts will become second nature to change .

Stay Toyota Go with the Proven 3.4 swap many on the road today lots of help

Come Down to $$$$$$ or your Skill.

It is not a good idea to have a shop never do a swap if it is never been done before.

    Best of Luck.

I would read and learn get as much hands on learning as I could .

With little money this could be a very slow project .

Then outside influences can also effect the outcome in both positive and negative directions .

If you have a 4x4 you have the 2.7l engine not the 2.4l, the 2.4l was put in the 5lug 2wd Tacomas
