Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Super chargers are tricky the vast majority end up needing rebuilt at a very expensive price.

Maybe if after a road test and inspection including all the parts to make this work i would give it some thought.

The mounting was not bad. Wiring was straight up easy. 1gr taco power steering, 1gr taco AC compressor, 2gr sienna 280a alternator.
Diff clearance on the oil pan has to happen too. Exhaust was definitely the trick. The intake manifold needs to be modified too.
I should probably pull them off and make a fixture to make more...

I had driven a mild built... ALH? 1.8t VW motor in an E-cab, and it was just so underwhelming. The torque hits hard, but there's less torque off idle than the 5vz so it seems OK with an AT but super annoying in an MT.

I was eyeing OM648 3l straight 6 and LS before swapping to 2GR.

Very happy with my swap, got it done for around $3500, but in terms of purchase-able parts vs intensive DIY, it can't compare to LS or VW diesel or power adders to 5vz.

You can easily use all of that $7000 on adding a Supercharger. If you do all the work yourself, rebuild the SC yourself, Probably would go Hal-Tech you are there already. Any type of swap can easily be from $10k to $20K.

Although this post was more about curiosity on other engine swaps.

I've been researching in adding a SC I've seen the new and improved magnuson SC for $4,000 seems like a good route.

    What is Hal-Tec?

hal-tech is a stand alone engine management system. If you do A SC or turbo you'll have to do something about engine management. Hal-tech makes it almost plug and play and a lot easier to tune. That's another large bill right there.

Thank you. I went and did some research and called Hal-Tech yes like you said they recommended the Elite 2500 model which would run me $1,500.

The tech support representative mentioned something about if my transmission is AT or MT because if it is AT I would need something else to be able to use the ECU. I just forgot what he said exactly. Might you know what he's talking about?

I only know a little but there is a thread on here where a Tacomworld member has lots of experience in the matter. More people on here might have some better info but just google search tacomaworld and hal-tech and you'll find more information than you knew you even needed!
