This thread is to ask questions about engine swaps and to help people with theirs.

    I have a question.

    Can I swap a 2002 tundra v8 into a 2002 tacoma?

    All questions welcome.

Trd S\C with nosecone hybrid bearing upgrade kit. 2.0 urd pulley, 7th injector kit-urd "6 fabtech lift with 3" body lift. 20" XD spy wheels with toyo open country r\t's in 37"x 12.50x20. Front and rear diffs re-geared to 4.88 dirty 30 drive axles. and a rhino pack clutch. Custom exhaust and huge mudflaps!
maybe with a body lift I think its more than just a swap like welding engine mouunts and more hard work. You can swap a 2010 tundra into 2010 xrunner but no 4x4! Search tacoma RTR and click videos. I would buy a 4x4 like that in a second. Im actually accumulating parts for my ls3 swap. Last time i did a 1999 dlx with a chevy 350 small block with 3\4 ton axles and turbo 350 transmission. Was a climbing BEAST 10' walls up and over with only 35" And locked fully lock in rear and aussie locker in the front. My brothers lr3 swap in his land rover is just sick it can do 140mph with ease.....That would blow knobbie apart on the highway! He was gonna go turbo but it has almost 460 hp now and a 6" lift with 35"s

Bw s256 turbo with 3 in glass pack dumped pre axle raptor liner bed and top rails and fenderflares and rocker panels. Hunter side steps. Plasti-dipped upper fenders and emblems. satin black spray paint here and there inside and out. 5100's set to 1.75" up front . C channel front bumper. Maxxis bighorn 255/85/16
reasoning (because V8 I assume but could be wrong)? you can get the same power for much less money and work. I also assume u must have access to a free or really cheap 4.7 and tranny to be asking this. heck you can do anything with the right change, there is a member on here who cut down a 3/4 ton ram with the 12 valve cummins and and put his taco body on it so he didn't have anything to worry about but body mounts.

Hell yeah you can. Search around the build threads, one guy did it and it was pretty bad ass. The Tundra came with the 5VZ-Fe (Taco V6 Engine) as an option so it's not a stretch. Not sure about 4x4 but it should bolt up as the transmissions should be compatible. You'll likely need custom engine mounts/arms. Best to get a parts truck that has what you need.
