Thanks for suggestions. I'll try to post a pic of my engine. I replaced entire engine. I didn't know toyota had 2 different 2.7 engines. One is a federal code and one is a California code. I swapped my valve cover over to the one my truck had when I pulled the engine. Now it will crank and is getting fuel but no fire.

Well there's your issue. I'm seeing coil on plugs which was for 2001-2004 trucks. You need the coilpack style.

The coil on plugs were what was on my truck originally. My truck is a 2000 though. I swapped the valve covers like I said. Engine didn't have the other coil packs style wires when I bought it cause the guy needed them for his other Toyota.

What have you changed or touched on the ignition system? Anything different?

The only thing I changed was the valve covers. I used the ignition system that's in my truck. The engine I bought used the coil packs style. Swapping the valve cover I thought should work since I kept my ignition system. I pulled my bad engine, bought the engine I have in truck now. Swapped valve covers and now no fire once everything is hooked up. I'm trying to find a spark plug socket that will fit down inside the sleeves to pull the plugs .

So your truck had coil on plug originally? There's three different types; distributor, coilpack, and coil on plug (direct ignition)

Yes mine had the coil on plug originally. Everything is hooked up. It cranks strong and is getting fuel. I can't find a spark plug socket to fit down the sleeve to pull the plugs

The coil on plugs I'm using are my old ones. I don't have money to buy new ones

So everything is original on the ignition system?

How are you determining you don’t have spark?

It's getting air cause I have air box open and I loosened the bolt in fuel rail just enough to see if it was pushing gas thru. It is. The engine just cranks

Have you checked for secondary output from coils and stressed any spark to c if it’s strong enough?

I've got oil in back 3 plug holes. But when I got the engine it tipped over hauling it back. And it had gotten knocked over without my knowledge for Idk how long cause it took a month with the way I work and with kids to get it swapped in. Any ideas on what caused oil if it's not where it got tipped over? And how do i clean it out?

Wet vac and 3/8 tubing, Copper tubing works best cause you can put a bend in it and rotate it all around,

I'll give it a shot in a lil bit. Thanks. Idk say the oil on the plugs is why it wasn't firing

Your original post said no spark. Have you tested for spark now that you have the plugs out ground one and check for spark the old timey way after you clean the oil fouling off the electrode. Do not touch/hold the plug, hold the insulated wire while cranking with the clean plug grounded to the valve cover. Hopefully you have the engine grounded properly now.

It's sparking now. I cleaned plugs and put them back in just to see and it tried to hit a couple times then my battery died. I'm gonna work on it more this weekend. Got errands to run with the family today.
