Is it possible to put a v8 into an 04 tacoma 4x4. Theoretically.
If so, what year model motors did you swap with and what problems did you encounter? any major mods? is it worth it?

I have the ability, but won't do it. I have Toyota trucks because of reliability. Doing a non standard engine swap ruins the reliability that i require.

You could buy something else to get you the v8 that you desire for much cheaper.

As for Toyota v8 engines, there are only three different motor. They are all very big and would take considerable fabrication skill to make fit.

    Good question.

interesting. I am just curious if there are ways to get a little more power, but i definitely dont want to decrease reliability. It was rammed by a semi, frame twisted, but it still runs great. So the last thing i want to do is push it too far. I was just curious if there was a FAIRLY simple ( i know swaps arent easy) motor swap or something.

What motor do you have now? If its the 3.4liter, you can supercharge it pretty easy. It is the best bang for the buck while maintaining reliability.

There are some real good threads here on supercharging your engine.

They are expensive, but still waaaay cheaper then a non standard engine swap.
