I have a 2000 PreRunner with 215,000 miles, still running strong like the day I drove it out of the dealer's lot. Time will come that the dependable 5VZ-FE motor would fail. Instead of buying a new truck, have you guys tried swapping the old motor with a refurbished one? I'm new here. BTW, my first Toyota truck had a 22RE motor with 255,000 miles before I traded it in.
    Thanks

I don't know, dude...seeing as you traded in your old truck way before it crapped out, I'm thinking you'll see a whole lot of use out of your 5VZ before it gives out and you'll probably by a second gen Taco way before that time.

I'd think about a swap as soon as it starts dying on you...unless you're doing the swap that this guy did.

    Anyways, Welcome to TW!
