Hey friends! I’ve owned my 05 Tacoma for a long time now. 250k miles and counting. I’m looking for suggestions on a shop or individual to engine swap my V6 to either a 2UZ or LS. Not interested in doing this myself, and yes I’m aware of the cost. I’m fine traveling anywhere out west. I’m located in the NW.

Subbed for research purposes. I didn't know this was common enough that shops would do it. I thought people just DIYed it with the Northwest Toys parts.

what kind of camper is that?

I mean you could probably find someone who’s already done it and say hey, how much to do this again to my truck

    and it may involve
    Time
    Delivery
    Blank check

even them sourcing good parts is gonna take time doubt they have it just sitting on a shelf there ready to go

and you can pick an engine if you’re really doing this there’s many options.
Isn’t there a swap kit for a Toyota diesel
There’s an adapter for BMW diesel

I’d be curious to know what engines everyone has done before. I believe I’ve seen:
    -4.7 Toyota v8
    -LS
    -VW 4cyl diesel
    -GX460 V8 in progress

Torfab was a no. They only work on cruisers. Toyonly was also a no. Toyonly said they like to buy a vehicle first and perform the swap and then sell it.

The 2UZ has been well documented online so I think it’ll be a matter of time before this is more common.

As for the camper, that is a TopoTopper out of Ventura, CA. I’ve had it for 2 years.

I’d consider a diesel, there’s already at least one company that does it and it’s going to most likely be cheaper than paying someone to do an LS swap

Not really. Diesel would be sweet but Dieseltoys quote is up there. I’d prefer the 2UZ anyways over an LS so I can stay with a reliable Toyota component. Plus it’s the same motor mounts and the transmission doesn’t need to be swapped.
