Having a issue with my Tacoma engine temp ever so slightly rises at idle. Air Temps here have been in the 30-40s but I’ve began to notice when idling my temp will creep from 190-197-98ish. Not anything over 200 but if temps were high it definitely would.
That’s not too high but it used to never do this. I’m wondering if the fan clutch is to blame?
I have a newer rad and the water pump has been replaced in the past. Also as soon as I pull away the temp will immediately drop back to 190-192.

Quit worrying. 2 degrees with little air flow thru the radiator......not a big surprise.

If you are puckered up by the tiny increase, open the radiator cap to verify fluid level.

Yes, start with the basic. Check the fluid level when cold, should be just under the cap, if you still have a overflow than it should be full with extra in the overflow. Grab the fan, you should get get some drag when rotating it which means the clutch is still good. If it spins really easy, the clutch is bad and won't supply enough air flow at low speed.

Sounds like you're monitoring your temps with a scangauge or something.

That's a common worry when people go from a needle on the dash that's a "dumb gauge" (only moves if it's actually overheating) to an actual temp gauge.

I'm not sure you have much to worry about.

I’m not worried at all, just funny it never did this even in the 100 degree temps in summer but now it’s cold it’s creeping up 10 degrees at idle. Yes I have a scan gauge, my factory gauge is toast.
