Is it just me or does the 6spd engine tick more then the auto? I can't see how it would be diff but my 6spd sounds like a diesel and my dads and two neighbours auto are a lot less tick/tap

I thinks it's just coincidence. I've had both a 6 spd and auto. The motor in my current tacoma, which is an auto is noisier than the one I had previously (6 speed). It didn't have anything to do with the tranny.

Yeah just seems odd. The autos I've been around were almost quiet. My wives 15 4Runner doesn't tick at all which is nice
