Dude, I believe you because of the lawn lol!
I have the best one on my block because while I have not yet cut it twice in a day, I’ve cut it every 2-3 days, and that’s for centipede so that says a lot. And I have used a hand reel mower(best cut), a 10k rpm riding mower, and Honda HRX217HYA to see for myself what is best and how often.

I like proof and facts, I listen to opinions if they make sense and act if they prove beneficial.

I can tell you that there is such a thing as too much maintenance because I’ve been there, done that.
I changed my ATF, diffs to excess to find the optimal. There are limits, benefits and cons. Diff benefit for the first 3X @1k change and no more. 30k is fine after that, but it won’t blow if you never change it again if its used normally. It will blow no matter what too if used beyond its design.
I’ve done it to ATF, and unless you tow or work it harder than normal, it matters not if you never change it. It will last long enough to pay for not changing it. In fact, I have seen more issues by changing it, so don’t touch if not broken works just fine. And a factory cooler is always a good thing. I would get a tow package just for that.

    Best of luck

I’m walking myself back to where you guys stand. For what its worth, despite you all having to revisit this at nauseam you all are actually making a difference for at least one person- me, and I thank you all for that.

I was under the impression that the 20 or so micron filters we all use are driven by the flow requirements of the engine. I was not aware that this filtration size is more for not filtering out the additives. I was also not aware that one could over-filter. I’ll have to try and wrap my brain around that one.

My mentioning of how often I cut my lawn wasn’t intended to suggest that I’m not any more aware or smarter than anyone else but rather to convey I have a couple of things that I enjoy obsessing over.

You can come mow my yard.

Don't worry. Mowing won't be needed until late April and once a week will be sufficient.

Shoot, I'll even provide the mower and fuel.

FWIW, the flow rate thru a filter with a fixed particulate size can be adjusted by the length and width of the filter media, number of pleats and can size.

It means you will have removed enough friction related contaminants to the point that it will run as smoothly with less friction that it can. And no more mpg will be squeezed out as a result of any more subsequent changes.

That seems very excessive to do 3 diff fluid changes in 3k miles.... but hey to each their own

I'm thinking every 30K would be a good interval for diffs and Xfer case lube change.

It'd be a good time to clean the MAF and throttle body. Changing plugs would be a reasonable task too.

Well, at least on my 2nd Gen.

Naw.....I'd skip anything short of 30K. I'm a lazy SOB.

It was an experiment I ran decades ago to prove a point. I also tested Mobil 1 Synthetic when it first came out to see at how many degrees it would take to ignite. And yes I almost set the place on fire with my accomplices. It's nuts I know
