Any suggestions for the best way to upgrade 4.0 liter v6 2005 tacoma's engine. I know the engine is great, durable, and "shouldn't be modded" but I need to go fast and I need the power to climb. I'm also a college student so I don't have a blank check.

A engine is basically a big air pump so if you can get the air into the cylinders and out the tail pipe as quickly as you can you'll make more hp and tq

To get the air into the motor you would need a good filter and not have no obstructions getting airflow into the throttle body

To get the air out of the motor you would need a header (s) preferably a Tri Y design as this helps scavenge the exh out quicker and stops exh pulse reversion . Next would be a good flowing Cat back set up

    You're looking at a possible 15-20hp gain !!

    You gotta pay to play.
As far as "fast" u need to get the ucon from urdusa.com, otherwise the governor will always stop u from going much beyond 110/115
Don't ask how to disable the governor here, thread will get locked.

As for "quick" u have many options.. forced induction, stroker kit, headers, ypipe, exhaust, ucon, maybe ovtune, turbo if ur able to Fab yourself.
