    Fellow Taco Lovers,

I am looking for some advice on the best way to wash my engine after bombing around in the mud.

She's pretty caked and I got most of it off with a hose and some soapy water (cold engine), but there is still the fine film of dirt covering most engine components.

Do you know of any tricks to get that dirt to lift and have it sparkling clean, without something like a brush to scrub it?

Thank you in advance for your wisdom!

    J

I blast mine with a pressure washer on the soap setting. Just don't go balls deep in connectors and such. Stand a bit back. Never had an issue over 4 different vehicles. Plenty of people will come on here and disagree though. Such is life.

Just bought 2 cans of Gunk to try out today after work. Guess foam and let it sit... may or may not wipe or rinse it off.... haven't decided yet!

Be careful around anything electrical. Avoid a direct high pressure blast.

These should all be water resistant, NOT water proof.

That kind of mud on porous plastic and aluminum will likely take some mechanical action to be removed.
