Alright guys, I'm trying to figure out the difference in weight for suspension setup purposes. Anyone know what the 2.7 weighs and what the v6 weighs? Engines only. I have a 2009 tacoma 2.7

It might be easier to just ask questions about suspension setups.

Unless you're able to math and have free time. :notsure:

Whatever you're wondering, someone has most likely already done it and knows the answer.

Especially with an AC 2.7 4x4 MT. Not exactly an uncommon configuration.

I'm sure there's info on it, but in general I am just curious to the weight difference between the 2

    Its probably around 320lbs vs the 384lbs for the 2GR-FKS (3.5 V6)

Find the max payload for each model in base configuration. The difference between these ratings should be approx the difference in weight between the engines.
The 4cyl has higher payload rating than V6 because they are built on the same chassis and the 4cyl engine is lighter, so allows more extra weight for payload rating.

if U are considering a swap

    torque is multiplied
resulting in consideration by engineers to add beef in places to handle the extra torque

just up & rollin not quite the test for loaded & pulling

if all is the same...............the V6 4x4 has an adequate build

if all is the same...............the i4 4x4 is Over Built

    weight
    torque
    HP
    will affect the frame directly

    good luck

If you look at it from a performance standpoint you can / will make more horsepower for less $$$$ from a 4cyl than you can from a V6

I can tell you that I put a stock TRD front suspension from a 2nd gen v6 in my second gen 4cyl 4x4 and saw no difference in ride height. Everything stock on front end.
