Hey everyone I am trying to figure out a strange problem.
I have a 96 Tacoma,2wd.2.4 L. It has 322k miles on the original clutch. I bought it in 97 and it had 36k when I bought it. It has been a great truck.
As of lately it has been acting strange. If I start it cold I have no problems.
If I drive for a while...get it good and hot...get back in it after 10 mins then it sometimes fails to start. I can smell gas when it happens and just have to wait 10 or 15 mins and it will start.
I have cleaned the throttle intake as I saw on youtube. I have cleaned the MAF sensor. I also have changed the ignition coil. The last tune up was about 20k miles a go.
The check engine light was on for the egr valve for several years but had never been an issue that I am aware of. I did clean it out a while back. Before I spend money on a diagnosis any insights will be most helpful. Thanks in advance!

I am also into old BMWs & this is a common problem with the 5 series of the 1980s . Lots of times the ground wire connections are loose from the block to frame & firewall. When the engine bay heats up the motor will not start. So check your ground connections . clean & tight. just a thought .hope this helps.
