I was bummed out about swapping my game plan up and having to go steel bumper (which means new springs, lights etc) that I also canceled the Smittybilt winch order. After doing some research on reviews, I stumbled on ENGO winches. Doing some more digging I found that rockridge 4wd is selling them at almost half off + free shipping!!

I got a 10k synthetic Engo winch + wireless remote for only $400 which are normally $700-750 (I also was able to score a 10% on top of the sale cause I called them)!!

I didn't either, but I saw some articles that ran tests against other winches and they always came up in the top 3. For the price of a smittlybilt with a higher quality on par with Warn (based on reviews and articles), it was a no brain-er for me. I also like the fact that the solenoids are relocatable since the bumper I am planning to get specifically states non-integrated solenoid winches.

Edit: here is one article that basically gives a brief description of the different brands http://www.fourwheeler.com/features/1612-want-a-winch-here-are-18-to-consider/

Is that the new SR/XR models? the old E models were not waterproof. They are replacing the E models with waterproofing.

From ENGO website for SR10S winches. It has an IP rating of 67 (Warn winches are 68). The E-models never had IP ratings, and the ones that are still being sold (for UTVs) does not have an IP rating on em. I also had a guy in my local group that was running the new models here in Louisiana (muddy, humid, and rain lol) and had gone thru river crossing with it with no issues. He only had it for 3 months so far though so not sure the longevity of it. Also, I wouldn't even put the solenoid (majority of the electrical part) in the front anyway. I would relocate it and mount on top of the fuse box under the hood. All you need to do that is stop by Lowes and get longer red/black wires.

Do you know if all of the SR winches have a relocatable solenoid? I can't find anything about that on their website...
