We picked up our 2018 Tacoma in Whitehorse Yukon Territory and drove 650 kilometres to Dawson City. The clutch burnt out. The whole trip it must have been slipping but we were on an ice covered road the whole time in -47 degrees and didn't notice the clutch was slipping.

They ran a 300 mile adventure race called the "Yukon Arctic Ultra" while we were up there. Competitors must cover the distance on foot, bike, or cross-country skis. There is no cellular service except in towns and most towns are at least 350 miles apart. The racers have a sled attached to their waist with all their camping supplies and food. Roberto Zanda, a 52 year old seasoned racer from Italy is still in the hospital and will probably lose both his feet and parts of his hands due to frostbite. Very unforgiving environment but it was an incredible trip of a lifetime. We were there for the Yukon Quest Dogsled race. It was so cold that the support vehicles for that race were left idling for days while the sat parked in Dawson City waiting for their respective dog team to come in. They don't dare shut down an engine that doesn't have a block heater, an oil pan heater and a battery blanket plugged in for more than a couple of hours or they will never get them to start again. The coldest we got was -50 degrees celsius on the thermometer. With windchill factored in it was probably -80.
