Looking for suggestions...I've read through several posts about various entertainment systems but I haven't been able to find exactly the model I am looking for which I don't think is too much...
    • 2019 Taco Base SR
    • Apple carplay and android play (over bluetooth would be a plus)
    • Works with stock USB media plug
    • Work with stock backup camera
    • Keep backup guide lines. I do like the default backup lines which are useful when backing up and aligning to a trailer hitch.
    • Works with steering wheel controls
    • Prefer to use stock mic but not a deal breaker to have additional mic

I was looking at some of the pioneer models and almost pulled the trigger when a good deal came up a few weeks ago but then I found out that they don't have backup lines which is the one thing I do really like about the stock system. I go boating a lot and I've grown to really find those lines useful...

You'll probably get the same answers as you found in the other threads:

You can purchase an adapter to retain the factory USB functionality.

Stock backup camera should work with most of the replacements. I believe the guidelines come along for the ride.

I haven't seen any that can use the factory mic.

You'll need something like the iDatalink Maestro to retain steering wheel controls, regardless of which receiver you choose.

Crutchfield is pretty good about showing what options are available with each unit. If you can't find the answer you need, the customer service is also pretty good, give them a call.

Wireless Carplay uses a WiFi pairing — not Bluetooth.

The backup camera works exactly the same with an aftermarket hu. Guidelines included.

Steering wheel controls require a Maestro.

I was looking at buying the Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX when it was on sale a few weeks ago but here are some comments from Amazon:

"Really? No parking assist feature??? I've had 2 previous models of this head unit in the same vehicle and both of them included parking assist feature that included lines that appear when backing up with my existing back up camera; not sure why this newest model is missing it;"

    I'll check with Crutchfield, thanks

The backup lines are part of the camera on my ‘17 Tacoma. I have no idea what the Amazon reviewer was driving.
