I hope xpel is better than the garbage southeast Toyota uses for their clear hood protector. Mine looks awful after a year and a half. I am going to make a warranty issue before my time is up.

I like it and If I had $ to burn I would do it too. Our winters are harsh on paint.
I also dont understand people who put lift/tires/armor/ then proceed to beat the piss out of or pretend to beat the piss out of $40k trucks.

Those same people wonder why someone would spend $40k on a vehicle just to baby it and not use it to it’s full potential. Different strokes for different folks

In the end despite the "warranty" no one know what this will do to paint. There's a TSB for wrap guard paint staining from when these trucks are new. There's already issues with certain paint colors having clear coat fade and other's have had paint peeling off. There's another TSB for rust spots forming on the door sills. The reason Tesla owners are installing this stuff is Tesla paint quality is pretty low. It no secret they're running more cars through their paint shop then they are permitted to via their air permit.

The question people should be thinking about:

How is Toyota going to see this if I start having a paint or rust issue under the bumper to bumper warranty with a wrap over the paint?

Hey if you have piles of money, beat your truck or wrap it in plastic, what ever makes you happy.

PPF from the factory is a mistake, as the paint needs to cure. It takes a few weeks for paint to cure, by the time these trucks hit dealers lots is at least a month. Once the paint is cured the wrap will not damage paint. The PPF has UV filtering PREVENTING fade. It’s easy to remove, just use a hair dryer to heat up the corners and it peels off. Other than money their is no negative results from PPF. Here in the Southwest paint will fade over the years without PPF. A decade ago 3M was leading the industry, but now its Xpel and Sun Tek leading the way as technology has improved.

Wow! Don’t share if you don’t want negative opinions. I’d imagine there are some razor marks you’re unaware of with a full wrap.

It is, I’ve had it in my Grand Cherokee front end for over a year now, it still looks as good as day one and I live in the caribbean where the sun is pretty harsh.

For fabric, coating is a better option, makes it hydrophobic resists stains etc.

Its funny you say that, so many people here have seat covers to protect the seats in their trucks.... or floor matts to protect their carpet. Seems like alot of people like to protect their cars.

I get it, was a joke my friend. As a weekend detailer, I still think nothing beats the look and feel of actual paint that has been corrected and cared for. Kind of like sitting on a sofa not covered in plastic.
