Hopefully this isnt a dumb question, but my 2018 Tacoma's vehicle settings on the Entune radio are disabled. I'm trying to get in there to adjust some settings but no matter what I cant get it to unlock. I've tried in accessory mode, running parked for about 5 mins, & running in motion. Deleted personal settings, reset radio to default settings, and updated with no luck. Has anyone else experienced this? Am I missing something simple?

For reference, this thread has an image of exactly what I am seeing except the comments dont apply. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/entune-vehicle-customization.456409/

Thanks for the response! Tried both of those with no luck at all. Time to contact Toyota.

That is locked out by the entune software when it gets the speedo signal. So my guess would be one of two things, software is messed up in some way, or it’s constantly getting the speedo signal (bad ground usually). First disconnect the battery for a few minutes, that will force a headunit reset. If that doesn’t work, pull the headunit and then pull each of the plugs on the back and re-seat them. If it still doesn’t work you could de-pin one of the wires in the connector, the speedo signal. (I’d have to look that up). But personally I’d try both suggestions above before letting a dealership monkey around with it.

Is that the same signal that prevents adding bluetooth devices while in motion? If so I have been able to add and remove devices, but I am now thinking that I may pull pull the AnyTime Backup Camera harness out to see if that is impacting it.

I’m not sure on the Bluetooth enable, I’ve never played with that. But it would make sense it was all tied together in the software, I’ll test next time I drive my truck as I have that speed signal in a switch so I can enter GPS address while moving. So thinking about it, see if you can enter a GPS location. While driving when I disable the speed signal I can use / change the vehicle settings that are usually locked out, that’s how I know it tied to that signal. (Well at least one of the checks is that signal). I’m guessing another check would be the ECU signal / connection, and that is run through the same cable / connector that the anytime backup camera uses. So removing that would be a good option to try as well.

FYI, I did end up resolving it by taking out the radio and swapping the Anytime Backup Camera harness out as well as removing my ODB2 scanner. Not sure which fixed it but was finally able to restore my settings.
