    That was with my LG G5. I now have the G8 and have not used google maps in the Tacoma yet with it.

    I've got my music on a USB drive. It and the navigation voice directions work nicely together.

    I don't use XM, AM, FM, Bluetooth, or any other music source. The USB meets my needs just fine. :thumbsup:

    Edit: I have used a Kindle app on my phone to listen to audible books over the Entune with the Bluetooth connection a few times. That's pretty nice.

    O.k. Its possible I am going crazy. I just tried it and it will only play the directions through the speakers if I have Bluetooth audio connected, which means no FM or XM radio. I think the few times I used google maps I probably had Pandora playing.
    Sorry guys, I guess I lied.:sorry::tinfoilhat:

    Here is a thought. Doesn't XM have an app where you can listen to it on your phone?
    What if you used the app along with google maps, then you will have your xm radio and a better map system and get it all through the truck speakers. Maybe

    For what it's worth: the previous car I had (2016 Accord) had Carplay and I still found myself using my phone all the time. Even the best systems like Carplay haven't totally figured out the user experience, when it comes to integration and ease of use. Carplay doesn't mimic your phone - there are only a handful of apps that it gives you access to. For example I use Waze, and waze isn't included in carplay. I personally prefer to mount my phone next to or above the touch screen and then i can use one for music and one for traffic/directions. I alternate which is which based on where i'm going. If i need to overcome traffic, it's waze on the phone and music on the touch screen ehad unit. If not, then I do music/podcast through phone and use the built-in nav in the car. This is all in a '19 TRD Sport and I do have the premium unit from the pictures on the first page.

    No worries. I wish you had found a way to make it work with something other than the Bluetooth.

    I know crazy!!! Just like the maps. Why do we need to buy a card to update them when they should just be able to send us an update. I guess you're right welcome to 2009

    I have a 2016 SR5 4x4. Was it an easy swap to the entune premium with the navigation? I'm thinking about swaping mine but not sure if all the cables stay the same. I know that you have to get a new bezel for the head unit.

    I have the premium, but if I had the standard HU, I'd have personally bought a Kenwood DDX9905S over the Premium Entune one. I recently installed one in my other car, and it's night and day better than the crap Entune unit IMO.

    In the above link, map updates for 1 year from purchase are included. Looks like there was an update at the end of the year that my 2019 doesn't have (I have OE071 while it looks like the current version is 86271-0E072).

    How do you get the update? Stroll into dealer parts department? Or request it at service appt?

    One mans trash is another mans treasure. The head unit does what it was meant to do.

    Map updates just adds new streets change of speed limits and any errors found after prior release. Everything does not change every year updates are not really necessary if you have a fairly new truck.
    You can always get the update one before the latest at a discounted price on eBay.

    Just got to chose the correct route that does not take you 15 miles out of the way:).
