I've had my truck for about 2 months now and have had the same intermittent connectivity issues others have experienced. That is, sometimes I have to open the app on my phone to get my vehicle to connect.

Just curious if Toyota has ever released in update to their iOS app?

Have you tried doing a hard restart of your phone? Just hold the home and lock buttons at the same time until the phone powers down and the Apple logo shows up on the screen, then release the buttons. I haven't had any issues with my iPhone 5, and I didn't even bother to install the app because I saw how low the ratings were for it.

I'm on iOS 9.3 beta 5. I have made it a practice to turn off Bluetooth on my phone and then turn it back on again when I get in my truck. The phone will connect every time even without doing that BUT I have noticed that if I am streaming music from an app like Amazon or Tidal, when I turn off the truck and turn it back on the music resumes, but skips like a broken record. The fix for me is to just turn in the truck, then on my phone disable Bluetooth then enable. Kind of hokey I know but I was thinking that it was because I'm a beta tester for apples iOS.

I'm on iOS 9.3 Public Beta 6 with v.1.17.43 of the Entune App. I don't have any Bluetooth issues like justin is having but I am having issues with the app connecting. Sometimes it is great, other times I have to open the app to get it to connect. I don't use it that often, mostly to stream iHeartRadio from an out of the area station every so often or to get traffic data when I'm traveling. Most of the time I play music from Apple Music over Bluetooth. The app hasn't been updated since November.

Hard Resets are not beneficial to the Phone (they can cause damage at the firmware level to the phone) and will not remedy his issue.

Not sure where you got that firmware scare info but apple recommends a force restart in some instances https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201559 You are correct in that it probably won't benefit the OP in any way for this specific issue but there isn't any risk of causing "damage at the firmware level" by force restarting the iPhone.

News to me since Apple seems to recommend it for just about every other problem I have.
