ENTUNE APP

Do you have to download the entune app if you have entune premium radio? How do you register it?

If you want to use the apps like Pandora, open table, text messages read to you, etc through the entune system, yes.

If you just want to stream stuff through Bluetooth, no.

 

still if you do the above your phone must be on with the app running, no?? using data. i don't get the entune app thing, old fart here.

 

It just has to be on in the background. It doesn't use data unless you are actively using one of the applications.

I like it because it will read my text messages to me as I'm driving and I can also respond, all while my phone is charging on the qi pad. Much safer than looking away from the road to read the message and then type a response.

It's also nice to be able to control Pandora through the steering wheel controls and use the head unit for it, rather than just stream through Bluetooth.

 

Entune sounds nice. Oh I also have it... Oh it doesn't work in Hawaii... Cool story

 

do u have to download the app on the phone or my truck. Also how do i know if i have the jbl stereo?

 

Download on your phone... Look at your head unit just below the touchscreen will say jbl.. If you don't have that you don't have the jbl stereo.

 

If I have enform for a new Lexus, do I need entune for the toyota? Mine is due in a couple days.

 

I'm 99% sure mine still read text messages even before I synced up the app on my phone.

My Lexus one wants me to pay like $300 a year. I just got the Toyota and the sales guy set me up and said its illegal to charge for enform so its all free now. I still get the number to call on my Lexus screen. Going to have to look into getting that fixed.

 

You mean other then the orange JBL logo on the dash? Or it being listed on the invoice in the window? Not sure how you don't know. I'd probably assume you just don't have it. Or, you could turn up your radio, say half way. If it sounds like crap, you don't have it. If it just sounds bad, you have it.

 

depends on your phone. if its an iPhone you can not reply from your truck. apple does not allow you to respond.

 

Can you put destinations on your phone, and they will show up on your navagation?

 

Yes they do. I do it all the time. You hold the "phone" button to activate Siri hands free mode and then tell it to "text (name) (your message).

I have an iphone and if I want to reply i just hit the mic thats on the keyboard as if i were to type a message. Works great!

 

How does Entune / Navagation update , is there a fee per yr for map updates like Ford does for Sync
