I got a 2014 equipped with the JBL package a few months ago. I have my iPod Classic (non-bluetooth) hooked up via the USB port, and have paired my iPhone 5s via bluetooth. I never have been able to get any of the Entune apps to work until today. I'd always get an error that applications needed to be running on my phone (I'd have Entune running on my iPhone) or a "tethering error" in Pandora.

I finally figured out that the entune apps will only function if there is nothing plugged into the USB port.

This seems sort of silly to me. Maybe in a future upgrade,Toyota will address this.

As an aside, one thing that has worked pretty nicely for me is to install the Activator tweak on my jailbroken iPhone. Whenever my iPhone connects to my truck via bluetooth, Entune and Waze automatically open on my phone.

Waze broadcasts warning messages re speed traps, road hazards, etc., through my audio system via bluetooth.

I keep my IPod Classic always plugged into my USB port and my Entune works just fine. I am using an Android phone and not IPhone and my system is not with the JBL package though.
