    That's great. I like the song Take on Anything, but my all time favorite is Sky is The Limit.

    Love this thread, thanks for the laughs/info

    same issue here, no solution yet.

    first day with my Tacoma and cover art was some chick in a bikini, almost crashed after the swift backhand from GF.

    I had to find the software I had used ages ago to do the cover art on my music. It's called Tag and Rename. Works great for batch adding cover art. My favorite part is that it allows adding cover art to folders and/or individual songs. Admittedly, I'm a Classic Rock guy so my music hasn't changed much in 30 years.

    I only listen to my music when I listen to music in my Taco and it's always via Bluetooth. I've never had a problem with it not displaying the cover art. I've thought of updating the Gracenote database but haven't needed it so far.

    Agreed! These generic Entune 'genre' art is super strange and annoying... Wish there was a way to force Entune to display Spotify artwork :(

    I went to the Toyota USA site on FB and posted my opinion of Entune and the silly Gracenote artwork. My 18 Tacoma just shows the "urban" girls on about everything. I'm so tired of looking at this. I set my system to default to the home screen right away - so I don't have to see them all day long. They exhaust me. Here is a link to my post. If you find the post, click on it and it will allow you to comment. Of course, the bigger issue is Entune is a vastly inferior system - but that's a whole 'nother matter that will not get addressed.

    Yes, there are things that Entune could do better but, overall, I like Entune.

    Having said that, when wireless Android Auto is offered on a system that I like, I'll get it with Maestro.

    I'm pretty OCD with my music. Every file in an album is tagged with a 500x500 jpeg album cover. On Entune, most albums show the cover, but some get an alternative cover or band photo, the generic genre image, or sometimes just a USB icon. I though maybe some of the jpegs might be oddballs Entune can't read, but they seem fine :notsure:

    Edit: I just re-encoded an album with the same jpeg, and now it works :notsure:

    So, it seems some of the album art may be oddball jpegs after all. I was playing with some m4a files, and found I couldn't embed the image in the m4a file. The error being "image file is not jpg/png and cannot be embedded." Looking at the image details, it appears to be a usuable jpg :notsure:

    Then I found a perl script that checks if the images can be embedded:
    (I'm a Linux user, but I believe this can run on Windows)
    Code:
    #!/usr/bin/env perl

    =pod

    This program checks whether an image is able to be embedded by AtomicParsley.

    =cut

    use strict;
    use warnings;

    my $img = $ARGV[0] or die "usage: $0 image\n";

    open IN, "<$img" or die "image file could not be opened: $!\n";
    my $header = undef;
    my $status = read IN, $header, 8;
    close IN;
    die "image file could not be read.\n" unless( defined $status );

    my @bytes = unpack("C*", $header);
    printf '%d bytes read, %s%s', $status, join(' ', map { sprintf('%02X',$_) } @bytes), "\n";

    my $head8 = join '', ( map { sprintf('\x%02X', $_) } @bytes );
    my $head4 = join '', ( map { sprintf('\x%02X', $_) } (@bytes[0..3]) );

    if( $head4 eq q'\xFF\xD8\xFF\xE0' || $head4 eq q'\xFF\xD8\xFF\xE1' ){
    print "jpeg\n";
    }elsif( $head8 eq q'\x89\x50\x4E\x47\x0D\x0A\x1A\x0A' ){
    print "png\n";
    }else{
    print "image file is not jpg/png and cannot be embedded.\n";
    }

    1;
    __END__

    Seems this jpg has a bad header
    Code:
    8 bytes read, FF D8 FF DB 00 43 00 08
    image file is not jpg/png and cannot be embedded.

    compared to a working jpg
    Code:
    8 bytes read, FF D8 FF E0 00 10 4A 46
    jpeg

    I guess this explains why sometimes ablum art doesn't work.
