any ever notice the sound not matching their phone if watching a video or something?

I was trying to watch a YouTube video the other day while waiting in my truck and the sound was delayed by a few seconds. Is this correctable?

Also sometimes when I go to select my phone it's playing music as if it's a scratched to hell CD. Skips every other second playing just bits and pieces. Only way I get it to work is disconnect my phone then reconnect and can only be done at a standstill.

I've come to the conclusion its a safety feature. If you use the aux cable though it works fine. Not sure why it would be skipping though. Tried un-pairing and re-pairing?

I've tried unpairing, repairing, disconnecting from both phone and vehicle prompts nothing. It's highly annoying to be sitting somewhere and can't even watch a video without needing to be plugged in to the Aux.

For as much as these trucks are there's cars half as much that have features we don't. It's the little ones like this that get me because there's no reason.

I'm gonna check for an update since I swear (not positive) I've watched a video and it was all in sync.

actually the delay is put in to compensate for protential packet loss in the audio stream over bluetooth. when you are talking on the phone it doesnt do this becuase the bitrate of phone conversations is soooo much lower than audio streaming.

Why is that? Not all Bluetooth enabled cars do this.

Can anyone tell me if they have similar experiences with their Bluetooth or is mine a one off?

I have the same issue on my taco. The delay drives my son nuts because he watches movies back there.

Mine does the same thing. My last car did also (Ford), doesn't really bother me too much. What does burn my gears is when I go to start Pandora and my phone starts playing the music, not the truck! It's happened many times, the Pandora app on the phone is closed, when this happens, I disconnect the Bluetooth connection between the truck & phone, music still plays, change the audio source in the truck, music still plays on the phone. The only way to stop the music on the phone is to power it down since Entune somehow started it there is no way to control it on the phone.
    Anyone dealing with that??!

My Entune system is a tragic mess when it comes to bluetooth. Yes I have the delay issues. also get random skipping. I have to disable/enable bluetooth to fix that when it starts skipping.

Seems like it has been weeks since the last time I saw song/artist data on my Entune screen.

And whenever I hit the pause button on Entune, I get a pause that lasts for about a second and then it continues to play. I have to pause from the phone to get music to actually stop. Once in a while it works but I've mostly given up on it at this point.

Really frustrating. I have $20 bluetooth headphones that work more reliably than Entune.

Sucks because I'm actually not unhappy with the system when it decides to work.

Make sure you disconnect your phone, and forget the device, then repair. I left mine unpaired a day or so then went back and its worked better as far as the skipping. I havent used my phone in a while though because I got a deal on XM so im trying that out.

As for the bluetooth delay thats maddening enough to stop the video all together.

    not enough.
You're not the only one. Bluetooth in general always has a lag associated with it. ESPECIALLY the older versions of bluetooth. If you remember a few years ago, with older bluetooth versions, you'd always have a lag. Newer versions of bluetooth aim to fix this. Phones even do a tricky thing where they delay the video just enough to sync the Audio-Video. I don't know what version of bluetooth entune uses.

I ALSO notice a lag in the radio. Not joking. Went to the drive-in last year and noticed a lag. To some people, it was fine but to my engineering ears, it was bad. We ended up using a portable radio/speaker my friend had on him.

Had this issue in the Colorado I had as well as in the Tacoma. I think it's pretty normal due to the above described delay to compensate for packet loss. Use a cable instead.

I have a similar issue, when starting the truck my girlfriends iPhone connects and Starts playing music automatically. However it playes 5-10 seconds really fast, then buffers for 5 seconds, then plays another 5-10 sexosec really fast. This continues untill the phone is disconnected and reconnected. Also only happens on iPhones. No fix found yet.

I've noticed that when playing a Youtube video that the audio is not synced up with the video...not that I'm trying to watch Youtube while driving or anything :spy:

Whats so anoying is that a $10 blackweb (walmart brand) aux to bluetooth adapter has WAYYY less lag than stock vehicle radio and the quality is the same. Alot of things about the tacoma radio agervate me.

This happens with a lot of headunits. My aftermarket Kenwoods were the same way.

I am having the same issue on mine and it pisses me off. Like my 2011 Kia Optima didn’t have this issue so why is it an issue in 2019?!

On my video player .VLC. THey have a built in feature to either speed up or slow down the sound so it will sync up.

My Tacoma doesn't sync up neither does my sound bar. Guess what your Pandora audio isn't instant either you just don't notice because there is no video
