    Hello,
I just purchased a 2018 Tacoma last week. I'm trying to find a way to make the controls around the Entune display (Home, Apps, etc) brighter with my daytime lights on. The display will brighten with my headlights off, but when I have the daylight lights on I can barely see any of the controls because they are too dim. Any suggestions?

Nope. I just switch the lights to where I can see the display.

Are you talking about the DRL position on the headlight control that turns on the LED daytime running lights? They have no effect on the head unit display in my '18 OR.

I never figured out how to fix this on my 18' TRD offroad as I like to ride with the lights on in the daytime. Even asked the sales guy (and I never ask for help!) Traded it on a 18' TRD Pro and my controls around the entune display now stay lit even with the headlights on in the daytime. Weird. Not sure if i just never found the right setting or if Toyota finally made a change. The TRD Pro is a 5/18 build if that matters.

You can go into the settings and adjust them as well as yours back up camera.

Are you guys talking about the HEADLIGHTS, or the daytime LED running lights?

For non-auto headlights: If your headlights are on during the day and you're having trouble seeing your HU screen/controls, hit the settings icon, then display, then "day mode" (or daytime mode, can't remember.) That should brighten everything right up for you. Worth noting this option doesn't even show in the menu unless your headlights are in the on position.

Not much to worry about. Entune sucks so much you will delete it shortly. It disconnects periodically, requiring logging in on the iPhone. It’s streaming and customization also feels like older technology and you can’t fix crap easily. I find simple Bluetooth to Siri is better to give you a baseline of my experience with entune.

Double confirmed. It using "day mode" kept the inner main screen bright, but would not brighten up the buttons surrounding the main display for audio, home, apps, etc. It works fine in my TRD pro however as well as my Tundra. Very strange.

I know this post is very old, but wanted to post this as it fixed mine. The surrounding Buttons brightness is impacted by the sensor on the dash of the passenger side. If something is covering this or the sensor has an issue, your buttons will not illuminate when you turn DRL or headlights on.

Had to use day mode today since it was raining. Mine doesnt brighten up the buttons. Seems like it does for some people and not for others? I have a 19 OR but no auto headlights.

Example with day mode on what buttons look like. They don’t change unless you turn the lights off.
