Entune dead pixels

Anyone has this issue? Happened a few days ago. My truck is a 2017 trd sport with tech package. Currently had 40,000 miles.

 

Have you tried tapping the screen to see if they come back? Stays like that with shut down and restart? People swap out headunits all the time for aftermarket, maybe you can scoop one up in the bst area. Or maybe talk to the dealer. They may swap out of good faith even though you are out of the 36k warranty.

 

This happened to my screen. It was replaced under warranty.

 

Yea warranty is long gone. Any recommendations on another etune system? I was really never a fan of their stock system.

 

Entune is shit. Always has been, always will be. Just go aftermarket. So many better options.

 

Yea i total agree. Pixels are crap. Im looking for a flush unit with the dash though.

 

The alpine halo 9(?) I think it’s called seems like a pretty solid head unit

 

My concern would be losing all the the functionality located inside entune. Door lock options, light options etc. I don't think aftermarket provides the same unfortunately. I do think there are other ways you can change them, just not as easily. Good luck, that really sucks it went out. I'd press the dealership if it were me. Your truck has the miles, but it isn't that old. They may fight for you.

 

I heard the two new-ish Kenwoods were decent, DNX575S/DNX875S are both navigation/backup camera ready, multi media etc. The 575 is a resistive touch screen, and the 875 is a capacitive touch screen. Android Auto and Apple Car Play in both, they'll both do lane-assist, parking lines, dash cam integration etc.

 

Happened to my 2014 Tundra at 25k miles. Dealership replaced the whole headunit under warranty and I never had any problems after that.

My 2018 Tacoma hasn't had this issue.

 

I’m looking to replace mine. It’s a 2018 brand new unit. I hate it! No apple play. Poor connection. Want to buy it? I need to find a replacement aftermarket head unit. I am searching this forum for my best possible solution.

 

Where are you located in? How much? Im thinking of replacing with aftermarket one too but if price is good i might as well replace it with oem. Honestly it doesn’t bother me that much.
